Setting the record straight
HVSafe’s origins in part came about because the founders of HVSafe were ousted from their roles as HVNA (Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association) Communications Committee Chairs. It was a tumultuous period and experience considering we were in a pandemic and because the HVNA leadership chose to bring on these events as retaliatory action due to the 2020 HVNA election.
This pattern of unfair behavior is not what one would expect from a community organization, however this is not a new trait of their leadership. Because the HVNA continues to demean our ongoing role in community advocacy work we’ve made the decision to share some of our views on what transpired as a means of setting the record straight.
